Watford and Bushey Art Society 2011 Summer Exhibition

Saturday 27th August at 10.00 am marks the start of the 2011 Watford and Bushey Art Society Summer Exhibition at the Harlequin Centre, Watford, with the official opening at 11.30am. The exhibition will run until 2.00pm on Sunday 4th September and as usual it will be easy to purchase unique and original artwork as each picture will have a label showing the title, medium, artist and price and can be taken away once purchased. Such pictures can transform a room and with up to 200 to choose from of varying subjects and styles there is something for everyone. Additionally the browser stands contain a superb selection of unframed pictures and prints.

The work of the Society’s artists includes beautiful figurative works, many of local scenes, portraits, and still life as well as increasingly popular contemporary and abstract works. The vibrancy of original art cannot be beaten, once purchased it is something to be enjoyed and admired for years to come.

The free exhibition is in The Harlequin Centre Gallery, (take the escalator near Next to the third floor).  If you are interested in painting then come along to the Watford and Bushey Art Society. We welcome all, whether you are an absolute beginner, a professional artist or just like seeing paintings. There is something for everyone.

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Beechen Grove Baptist Church, Watford from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. for demonstrations by professional artists. See the most amazing pictures created before your eyes and hear about the materials and techniques they use.
As well as exhibitions where members can display and sell their work, our sketching group meets on Mondays in the restored Victorian Frobisher Art Studio at Bushey Museum.

Founded in 1921 we are now in our 90th year and one of the oldest and largest art societies in the area.  For more information visit the website on www.wbas.org or call 01923 802447
